The drawing shows the view through an alleyway to the Tempio di Antonino e Faustina. The temple, consecrated as a place of worship for the imperial couple Antoninus Pius and Faustina Maior, was built in 141 AD and is located at the Forum Romanum. The rededication of the temple to the church of San Lorenzo in Miranda in the 5th century saved the ancient building from destruction.
